More "You" = More Competitive
The secret is using the entire college application to share every compelling window into your life.

Julia's activity summary packed the narrative punch of 4-5 different essays. She stood out from peers in similar activities and earned higher evaluation scores before her essays were even read.

William's essays, guided by our therapy-informed approach to achieve deeper introspection and meaning, weren't wasted on stories better summarized elsewhere in the application.

Melissa used her additional info page, left blank by most students, to share compelling information that most students use their required essays for. So, her required essays went further.

Kira, rather than answering her supplemental essay prompts point blank, wrote strategically beyond the prompts to match the intellect of the institution.
How it Works
We offer three result-oriented packages, all sharing the exact same core with varying amounts of 1-on-1 hours to accommodate extra, university-specific supplemental essays. If you're applying to universities that require fewer supplemental essays, then you don't need as many hours. All packages accommodate freshmen and transfer applicants. In each, we guide students step-by-step in utilizing the writing and trimming techniques necessary for our strategy to work—in their natural voice and within word count limitations. This attention to detail maximizes their storytelling potential and ratings on admissions rubrics.
I. The Express Package:
For Students Only Applying to Colleges Within the Same, Shared Application System
Two versions:
- 10 Hours ($3,500) for the UC App Only, or
- 12 Hours ($4,000) for the Common App Only
Expectations for the 10 Hour Version:
The 10 hour version helps most students finish the entire UC Application (7 pages of writing).
For which UC Applicants is the 10 Hour UC Package Too Small?
*UC Applicants with Certain Majors: Traditionally, the UCs don't require additional supplemental essays, but the UC application is 7 pages long, compared to the 4 page Common Application, making the UC app the most extensive college application a student can submit. However, if you are majoring in engineering, film, a creative or performing art, or another major which requires a creative portfolio and/or major-specific supplemental essays, then the Complete Package may be a better fit for you. We can help you assess this before you sign up based on your major and any supplemental materials required.
Expectations for the 12 Hour Version:
The 12 hour version helps most students finish the core Common Application (4 pages of writing), one to three types of extra, supplemental essays that particular Common Application member colleges may require, plus letters of recommendation. Once the hours are exhausted, additional hours may be purchased at the rate of $300/hr.
Note: the same types of supplemental essay prompts are often shared by different colleges, allowing you to get more mileage out of your 12 Hour Express Package. Colleges ranked top 20 to 200 tend to (almost unanimously) have identical supplemental essay prompts that can be distinctly recycled. However, colleges ranked 1 to 15 tend to have more numerous and non-overlapping prompts that require more attention. Before you sign up, we can provide an estimate based on your college list whether the 12 Hour Express or our 17 Hour Deluxe Package is more fitting for your prompt overlap opportunities (or lack thereof). Generally speaking, if you're applying to top 15 universities through the Common App, you'll have an unusually high amount of supplemental essays for which the Deluxe Package is a better fit. You'll also save $400 by starting with the Deluxe Package outright rather than by starting with the 12 Hour Express Package and adding on the equivalent amount of hours.
Adding Additional Hours:
For either version of this package, you can add hours if you ultimately decide to apply to more colleges than you originally expected. In this event, we’d be happy to provide a quote on how many extra hours you’re likely to need based on how many (and which types of) supplemental essays you'll be adding.
With Either Version of the Express Package, You'll Get:
✓ A step-by-step, no stress program for parents and students to get through the college applications and college essays
✓ Guidance on finding scholarships and college cost planning
✓ Management of important dates and deadlines
✓ The ability to finish your first college application(s) in as little as 6 weeks (or a choose a customized schedule that works for you) with deadline accountability
✓ Start before the applications are released: we have this year's prompts & guidelines
✓ Plus 30+ hours of College Zoom’s interactive online pre-meeting exercises. They'll guide you step-by-step in thoughtfully brainstorming and outlining a part of your application’s 5 to 7 pages of writing before each meeting so that your 1-on-1's can focus on more advanced level editing than our hourly help service
✓ Learn to weave compelling stories throughout your entire written application—not just your essays (maximizing the 5 to 7 pages of writing that each college affords you)
✓ Steer your letters of recommendation with brag sheets so your teachers are less inclined to use the same template talking points that most of your classmates will get
✓ Avoid the poor readability mistakes that arise when students write their college applications according to how they're prompted in the application portal rather than how the application will actually appear in format when it prints out to admissions officers
✓ Authentically stand out in your own right while avoiding the gimmicks, clichés, and common mistakes that many students feel compelled to deviate towards (when feeling the pressure to sound unique or profound)
✓ A complimentary double check for one of each kind of supplemental essay finished with us at least 8 days before its deadline
A Student May Need Additional Time if He or She:
• Has chosen to apply to colleges that require more extra essays than usual.
• Doesn’t complete assigned homework or exert enough effort, requiring remedial counseling that sets back our agreed upon schedule
• Has special needs or learning challenges that require extra help to achieve a satisfactory work product.

II. The Deluxe Package:
Ideal for Most Students: Our Most Popular Package
- 17 hours ($5,100) for both the UC & Common Apps
This is the 12 Hour Express Package with 5 extra hours because students applying to colleges that require the submission of multiple college applications (e.g. the Common Application, UC Application, Coalition Application, and/or ApplyTexas Application) will need this time to properly adapt their content to the formatting of each application. Most students won't require more than the Deluxe Package's 17 hours to complete the main component of each application, which contains essays that shouldn't be tailored to any one college. However, some colleges may additionally require unique, extra, additional supplemental essays. The 17 hours typically complete three to five types of different, non-overlapping supplemental essays. Commonly, each type of supplemental essay prompt will be shared by multiple colleges, allowing you to gain even more mileage out of the 17 hours.
Variable Hours: If the particular mix of colleges you're targeting require more supplemental essays with non-overlapping prompts than is usual, you can add extra hours to your Deluxe Package at a discounted rate to finish them. This way, you get exactly the help you need without overpaying for help you won't utilize. We're happy to provide a free estimate of how many extra hours, if any, you will likely need based on your specific major, colleges, and personal work habits.
The 17 hours help most students finish the entire UC Application (7 pages of writing) and the entire Common Application (4 pages of writing). Plus, students often have enough time left over to complete 3 to 5 extra, school specific essays that particular Common Application member colleges may require. If a student is submitting a Coalition Application or ApplyTexas application, the hours that would've gone towards the supplemental essays can be used to develop those applications instead because these applications have each college's supplemental essays built into the main applications (rather than being separated). Once the hours are exhausted, additional hours may be purchased at the rate of $300/hr.
With the Deluxe Package, You'll Get:
✓ A step-by-step, no stress program for parents and students to get through the college applications and college essays
✓ Guidance on finding scholarships and college cost planning

III. The Elite Package
Ideal for Students Applying Almost Exclusively to the Top 15 Universities
- 28 hours ($8,200) for students applying to many top 15 universities
The Elite Package is our Deluxe Package equipped with 11 extra hours to support a student who is applying mostly to top 15 colleges (i.e. the Ivies and ultra elite colleges). Colleges in this highest tier of selectivity tend to require many, non-overlapping extra essay prompts that should be especially fine-tuned for sophistication. In addition, there will also be interview preparation. This package also better fits students applying to combined BS/MD programs (i.e. early and direct admittance to medical school) as they'll require many extra essays.
Tip: If there are only two to four top 15 ranked colleges in your college list, we recommend the Deluxe Package: you may not even need extra hours. That way you get the same service but don't pay for extra hours for extra essays you won't be writing.
With the Elite Package, You'll Get:
✓ More hours than the Complete Package to account for the extra essays required by elite colleges
✓ Ace each college's interview
✓ A step-by-step, no stress program for parents and students to get through the college applications and college essays
✓ Guidance on finding scholarships and college cost planning
✓ Management of important dates and deadlines
✓ The ability to finish your first college application(s) in as little as 7 weeks (or a choose a customized schedule that works for you) with deadline accountability
✓ Start before the applications are released: we have this year's prompts & guidelines

A Student May Need Additional Time if He or She:
• Has chosen to apply to colleges that require more extra essays than usual.
• Has chosen to apply to BS/MD programs which require more interviews and essays for the added medical school components of each undergraduate application.
• Doesn’t complete assigned homework or exert enough effort, requiring remedial counseling that sets back our agreed upon schedule
• Has special needs or learning challenges that require extra help to achieve a satisfactory work product.
If the hours are exhausted, additional hours may be purchased at the rate of $300/hr.

A Process as Rewarding as Its Outcomes
“Instead of taking my surface level attributes and spinning them, College Zoom pulled out deep characteristics and parts of my life that I would have neglected. I would have never had the level of introspection to ask myself the kinds of questions that they did, and their ability to turn my life events into really compelling narratives is supernormal. When I was proofreading my final application, I thought, 'Wow, this is really about me,' as opposed to, 'this could be about anybody.'”
— Steve, Claremont McKenna College, Class of 2014

"My mom was running down the hall saying we had to book College Zoom, "Wendy [her friend] says they're the best!" After our first meeting, I didn’t want to go back to my other admissions consultant. I felt College Zoom was more invested and cared more to help me make my application the best it could be. My other consultant cared, too, and she was invested in her work as well. But she was more settled whereas College Zoom was more motivated and always sought to make things better. Your enthusiasm about my work got me more excited, and even the way you built up my activity sheet was night vs day. Putting the College Zoom version side by side with the one my other consultant helped me with was like looking at two different people. One of them was very boring.”
— Olivia T., Cornell University, Class of 2020
★★★★★
“Learning that the prompts on the University of California and Common Applications were misleading was revolutionary. I can’t even explain it—College Zoom made writing a lot easier than the applications explained it and showed me how to express myself in a way that I never would have been able to do. College Zoom is the reason I got in to a school seeming way out of hand. They know all these "tricks of the trade" of how to write for admissions officers."
— Filip A., Colby College, Class of 2017
★★★★★
“The entire process was incredible. College Zoom revealed parts of me that I never realized before. I began seeing how seemingly insignificant experiences I’ve had are actually incredibly significant to my future, and they also helped me articulate all of that in my college application.”
— Elaine Ying, Columbia University

"We’re so thrilled! I can honestly say my daughter's acceptance to her #1 college (UMiami) would not have happened without College Zoom. You convinced the most stubborn kid on earth to write about a topic that was completely off limits, and worked together with her in the same convincing session to knock out an amazing outline that she loved before she could change her mind. Incredible tactic! For the activity sheet, I read it and thought I gave birth to a superstar! The details in her sports & activities brought to light the very best of her, revealing wow factors beyond the obvious.
As a lawyer, I like to think I’m a good writer and editor but I don't hold a candle to you. I know you worked hard to turn her rough essays (emphasis on rough) into brilliant diamonds! Each of your stylistic changes had a significant impact. In fact, her writing this year has improved dramatically and she says it’s because of College Zoom. Get ready for kid #2! I wouldn’t even consider anyone else. We’re so grateful!"

"I am actually really impressed. There were certain ideas I wanted to convey in my writing that I didn’t know how to express, and you guys took the words right out of my mouth."
