I pretended to be a prospective student on the phone to get a "Chance Me" analysis of my odds. In reality, I had just graduated. Upon hearing I had a 3.2 GPA, the admissions officer's dismissiveness crushed me. Talented? Me? No way. But when I viewed my accepted admissions file under FERPA, I understood; "talent" meant I applied personality's strengths to stand out from others with the same titles and roles as me.
